Cladding Testing
Swantest offers bespoke testing solutions tailored to a wide range of cladding systems. This includes performance testing of the cladding panels, assessment of the fixings used for restraint, and evaluation of the base materials to which they are applied.
We have successfully designed and constructed representative test panels to replicate site-specific installations. This enabled us to accurately assess the impact resistance of external cladding panels, as well as evaluate the friction resistance of the bracket fixings used to secure them.
Understanding Cladding Testing
Swantest has previously undertaken testing on innovative cladding systems where the impact of routine maintenance activities—such as abseiling cleaning teams—was not yet established. These assessments were designed to evaluate the durability and performance of the cladding under such dynamic interactions.
Our dedicated test facility is equipped to perform this type of specialised testing, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
In addition, we have carried out in-situ testing of cladding panels on live structures to verify the integrity of both the panels and their fixings under simulated wind loading conditions.
